PowerGenix is well capitalized through private investment by six top tier investment firms. Each of these firms is well established, has extensive experience in the energy space and has a history of success investing in new energy technologies.
The financial and directional support afforded by these companies enables PowerGenix to focus on business growth and enables aggressive new product introduction cycles, customer support, and marketing efforts.
The PowerGenix Board of Directors is made up of the following representatives from each of these six firms along with Dan Squiller, PowerGenix's CEO:
- Ira Ehrenpreis of Technology Partners
Ira Ehrenpreis is a General Partner with Technology Partners, leading its Cleantech investment practice. Technology Partners is a 23 year old venture capital firm that has managed more than $750 million of investment capital investing in more than 100 companies. The majority of investments are in early stage companies. The firm invests approximately half of its capital into Cleantech (Energy Technology, Water Technology, and Materials Science) companies and the other half into companies focused on the Life Sciences. - Len Rand of Granite Ventures
Len is a Manging Director of Granite Ventures a San Francisco based firm that, manages more than $1 billion in committed venture capital and has invested in more than 90 private companies. In addition to Granite Ventures L.P., a $150 million fund raised in December 2000, and Granite Ventures II, L.P., a $350 million fund raised in August 2005, the company manages a series of venture capital funds in dedicated partnerships with Adobe Systems Incorporated and Texas Instruments Incorporated. - John J. Rockwell of DFJ Element
John is a Managing Director of DFJ Element, a $300 million clean technology focused venture fund. He has 18 years of experience investing in venture capital and developing companies commercializing applications of advanced materials. He has invested broadly across the CleanTech sectors with an emphasis on advanced materials, information technology and electronics. Prior to joining DFJ Element, John was a Partner at Advent International Corporation and managed the firm's California office. - Jason Rottenberg of OnPoint Technologies
Jason is the Managing Director of OnPoint Technologies, a U.S. Army-backed venture capital firm headquartered in Maitland, Florida, OnPoint Technologies is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to discover, invest in, and support companies and programs developing innovative mobile power and energy technology in the commercial market with potential application to U.S. Army needs. - Zeb Rice of Angeleno Group
Zeb Rice is a Managing partner of Angeleno Group, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm focused on high growth investments in the energy sector. Angeleno makes investments broadly across the energy industry to support innovative, well-managed, early-to expansion stage companies. Areas of particular interest include: advanced generation and power quality, renewables, energy intelligence and control, transmission and distribution, power storage, and advanced fuel technologies. -
Justin Label of Bessemer Venture Partners
Justin is a Partner in Bessemer Venture Partner's Menlo Park office, focusing on Cleantech investments. Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) continues to have the longest-running record of success in the venture capital industry. Over the course of its history, investors at the firm formed or funded over 100 startups that grew into independent public companies. Today, from offices in New York, Silicon Valley, Boston, Beijing, Mumbai and Herzliya, BVP manages more than $2 billion of venture capital invested in over 130 startups around the world.
